The debut five-for seems a real possibility now for de Lange. I guess the last few wickets have taken the sheen off what was shaping up to be a good day for Sri Lanka. They've improved a great deal in this innings no doubt. The good news is Samaraweera is still around and looks well set to get a century. That's if Herath and the rest can stick around. Nevertheless an absorbing day's Test cricket. Fortunes swung either side and the SA bowlers had to slog it out quite a bit. Chandimal will rue the manner of his dismissal but he can take heart from the fact that he was part of Sri Lanka's recovery stand. Thanks for your company today. We'll see you again tomorrow, at 9.45am local time.
89.3 | de Lange to Perera, OUT, 138.2 kph, I don't understand this but why didn't Samaraweera farm the strike in the last over? A shaky Perera fends off a short delivery on the body but ends up lobbing it towards Amla at backward short-leg
NLTC Perera c Amla b de Lange 12 (35m 28b 2x4 0x6) SR: 42.85
89.2 | de Lange to Samaraweera, 1 run, 136.8 kph, he doesn't mind getting off the strike, gently steers it towards point
89.1 | de Lange to Samaraweera, no run, 135.0 kph, lands it just outside off and Samaraweera safely sees it through
End of over 89 (5 runs) Sri Lanka 288/6

Firdose informs me that a big brawl has erupted in the stands. People boxing and now someone has been arrested and taken away.
88.6 | Steyn to Perera, no run, keeps it on the stumps and he safely pushes it away
88.5 | Steyn to Perera, no run, 141.8 kph, steers this one softly to the off side
88.4 | Steyn to Perera, no run, 145.8 kph, this one just sails over the top of the off stump, Perera looking jittery again
88.3 | Steyn to Perera, FOUR, 144.7 kph, another lucky escape, he pokes at a delivry that kicked up off a good length, flew off the shoulder of the bat and cleared fourth slip
88.2 | Steyn to Samaraweera, 1 run, 138.6 kph, fuller delivery and he works it down towards midwicket
88.1 | Steyn to Samaraweera, no run, 139.7 kph, he clips it down towards square leg
End of over 88 (4 runs) Sri Lanka 283/6

87.6 | de Lange to Perera, no run, 136.4 kph, now he backs away and tries to slog his way out of the pressure, misses it completely
87.5 | de Lange to Perera, FOUR, 140.4 kph, angles it on the body and he gently tucks it down to fine leg, Perera's had quite a torrid time, this should be a relief
87.4 | de Lange to Perera, no run, 136.8 kph, close call! He tries to fend off a sharp bouncer and the ball lobs off his glove I think and Amla makes a desperate attempt to run to the off side and catch it
87.3 | de Lange to Perera, no run, 137.5 kph, the quick bouncer, he safely lets it go
87.2 | de Lange to Perera, no run, 137.9 kph, fullish in length on middle and off and he clips it down to mid-on
87.1 | de Lange to Perera, no run, 135.0 kph, fends off a short delivery just short of Amla at backward short leg
End of over 87 (2 runs) Sri Lanka 279/6

Tahir goes off the field, probably cramping up
86.6 | Steyn to Samaraweera, no run, 143.6 kph, ducks under another bouncer, this is good, aggressive fast bowling, SL need to bit their teeth till stumps
86.5 | Steyn to Samaraweera, no run, 143.6 kph, another bouncer and Samaraweera falls over at the crease as he tries to evade it
86.4 | Steyn to Samaraweera, no run, 145.4 kph, hits the deck hard and he evades the bouncer
86.3 | Steyn to Samaraweera, 2 runs, 138.6 kph, full outside the off stump and he pushes it down to sweeper cover
86.2 | Steyn to Samaraweera, no run, 139.0 kph, stays back and clips him down towards midwicket
86.1 | Steyn to Samaraweera, no run, 144.4 kph, stays back at the crease and defends to the off side
Extra time here. Just | |||||||||||||||

85.5 | de Lange to Perera, no run, 137.5 kph
85.4 | de Lange to Perera, no run, 138.2 kph, late evening wake-up call for perera, a short ball which he never really saw, somehow fended it off his arm |
